1. IDENTIFYING CANDIDATES
Abacus draws and identifies candidates on various ways. One and certainly the most effective are by way of candidates visiting our website. We are also subscribed to the different Job Search sites where we advertise our great opportunities. However, we know that the really excellent candidates would not and don’t have to apply through advertisement and that is why we use our database extensively and our exceptional relationships to build from one candidate to the other.
After screening CV’s and having several discussions Abacus will select the best candidates to represent at our clients.
2. CANDIDATE INTERVIEW
The selected candidates are invited to meet with the consultant/s at our office. The candidate must bring with a ID, Company salary slip, proof of qualification and driver’s license if applicable.
Abacus then in an hour interview gets a thorough understanding of the following:
• Understanding of current skills and responsibilities;
• Expectation of new company and position;
• Detailed Salary breakdown and expectation;
• Reason why candidate is looking for a new opportunity;
The candidate and consultant also agree on a way of working and representation. The consultant would discuss the immediate opportunities available and/or clients that we are representing at the end of the interview.
3. REFERENCES AND CHECKS
After the interview at least 2 references will be checked and the credit, criminal and qualification checks would be requested. The consultant will determine which immediate supervisor/manager will be contacted for the references.
4. PRESENTATION AT COMPANIES
After a detailed CV was compiled, the consultant will once consent was given by the candidate send the CV to the clients that we are representing. Abacus also does pro-active marketing and will contact companies that we know will be interested in the candidate’s skills.
5. PREPARATION FOR INTERVIEWS
After scheduling and confirming interview times, Abacus will prepare the candidate for each interview by providing the following information:
• Date, time and address;
• Roadmap;
• Detailed position information;
• Detailed company information; and
• What to expect of the interview.
6. FOLLOW-UP AFTER INTERVIEWS
After each interview Abacus will follow-up with the candidate and company to determine how the interview went. Abacus would focus on the following:
• Culture fit;
• Skills and responsibility fit;
• General gut feel; and
• Salary expectation.
Feedback would also be provided to the candidate after follow-up with the manager/HR.
7. SALARY NEGOTIATION
Should the candidate and company be satisfied with the interview and skills Abacus would guide the process to the next step. Either a second interview, psychometric testing, ect. Abacus will negotiate on behalf of the candidate on salary, benefits and anything else important. As we do this on a daily basis and the fact that we know the companies well we are confident that we can do it best. Abacus can also help with any questions or concerns by either getting the answers from the company or by arranging another meeting so that all questions can be ask and cleared.
8. SIGNING OF CONTRACT
Abacus will help every candidate through the signing of the contract and resignation phase. We do understand that moving to a new company is stressful and we believe that every consultant in Abacus has the ability to help you to deal successful with the change. We can provide sample resignation letters, information on fear of change and the one thing every candidate can expect – counter offer.
We also try to organize socials or project meetings for you in your notice month so that you are as much prepared as possible.
As Abacus has a 3 month’s guarantee period we will contact you in the first three month once a month to ascertain whether you are settling in and happy in your new position. If there is anything hassling you and you do not know how to answer it, please contact us immediately. We can help with no trouble as we usually know the company and managers well.
